Selene's Solstice Gift to Us ...

Hi, everyone,

We've
had another wonderful Solstice gift today!

If you have read the earlier posts here and here, you will know that the second of out three cats, Selene Mama Cat was diagnosed with lymphoma of the bowel wall, a type of cancer of the lymphatic system and white blood cells.

Today we had to take her for her third follow-up visit to the vet and he was able to give us the news that Selene's lymphoma seems to be in remission; it's the same as last time, i.e. barely noticeable.

We know there is a possibility that she may not make the oldest of bones - note the use of the term possibility rather than probability - as someone who is interested in the Law of Attraction my preference is to focus on seeing Selene as healthy as possible and still with us in years to come. She is still on the receiving end of lots of healing, both Reiki and EFT. She could have gone last September, and now she's filled out again, and even managing to go off mousing :-( ; not that it stops her mugging Hecate for hers!

Her appetite is generally still quite good and we've even found her doing the same thing she did the first night we had her - helping herself to the milk in our mugs.:-)

So we are really pleased to have this news
. I still ask myself is the EFT and Reiki responsible? Who knows, but as that well-known advert here in the UK states: "Every little helps!".

Bright Blessings,

Karen

Solstice Greetings to One and All!

Hi everyone,

Winter Solstice. This is probably one of m
y most favourite times of the year - the day of the longest night, when the Wheel of the Year turns towards the brighter, longer days to come. Not being a follower of the Christian path, albeit respecting all those who do, and those who follow the many other paths of the Light, this is one of the highlights of my year.

Selena Fox writes here about the celebration of the Solstice and I like a lot of what she has to say. I celebrate the Solstice and the rest of the family celebrate Christmas, so I actually do get an extended festive season, which is great for a big child like me. In our house, as well as traditional Christmas day gifts, we always exchange a present on the Solstice day, and today were able to do that exactly at 17.47 GMT, the moment of the Solstice.

My dear OH bought me an impulse present, as he called it, and watched with some trepidation as I unwrapped it (previously impulse buys have included a microscope - useful if only I had the space to put and use it, and a telescope (!), because "you like to look at the moon." Well, they do say it's the thought that counts. :-D ). This time, he'd got it spot-on. A beautiful symbol of the Light - a gel fireplace. I love watching flames, and as we don't have a real fireplace in our house, I've had to make do with candle flames (I wonder sometimes if I was an arsonist in a previous life; I've also always been enchanted by photos of volcanoes erupting - despite being a watery Pisces, with an earthy Taurus rising.)

We had to try it out, of course. Beautiful!

The first picture was with the flash; the second is more atmospheric and shows how it looked for real. Watching the flames dance was quite mesmerizing; Alasdair was dozing off; Pyewacket was on his lap, eyes on the flames, and I was entranced.

We've had
the lights, the tree and the decorations up nearly two weeks now - this year is another of the child-like ones for me and there is great pleasure in looking at the lights and tree, and all. Today I gathered in some ivy from the garden and some holly from the hedgerows, and we brought in the mistletoe, kept in the cold garage this year so it looks much fresher this time.

I've finall
y found a way to keep the "Littl'Un", Hecate, from playing with the baubles on the tree. Last year I soaked some cotton wool with a Festive Season essential oil mix I made up (Red Mandarin, Pine, Frankincense, Cinnamon and Clove Bud) and placed it under the tree. It kept her away all right. This year I used Orange as my base instead of Mandarin and added some Myrrh, and some Coriander essential oil, just to ring the changes. It still works, and when she turned her attention to the ribbons on the door holding the cards, a drop on the ends stopped that as well. So peace reigns... and she decided it was best to keep her Mama Selene, company and warm.

At this time of deepest, darkest winter, at least here in the northern hemisphere, I think of the tiny seeds lying dormant in the cold, dark soil, awaiting the warming, life-giving light of the sun as it strengthens into spring-time. Waiting to burst into life and become beautiful plants, and perhaps some no
t quite so beautiful weeds (:-D). And life is like that, following the cycle of the seasons.

For many people I know, 2009 has been a really grotty year. Despite all that, I would like to wish Light, Love, Peace and Joy to all, no matter what path you may follow, as it's my belief we are all headed the same way. I'd like to think of this card I made as being a symbol of the Light and Love moving throughout the world at this time.

Bright Blessings,

Karen

Gary Craig, Founding Father of EFT, Announces his Retirement

Hi everyone,

Well, I got quite a shock reading my email this morning as I learned that Gary Craig, founding father of EFT, has announced his retirement from 15th January, 2010.

In some ways, perhaps, it doesn't come as the greatest of surprises as Gary has devoted so much time, energy, effort and resources to getting EFT out there in the world. To learn that you have suffered a silent heart attack must come as a bit of a shock to say the least, and a reminder that an individual can only commit so much of themselves to a cause.

It will be a shame if all the information on the emofree website disappears as I know it has been a great inspiration for many people - for many of whom standard modern medicine has failed or left wanting. Perhaps something might be worked out there, who knows. In the meantime, it might be a good idea to go along to the site and search out any particular topics of interest to you, and download the EFT Manual if you haven't already done so, before it goes.

I was hoping to get my EFT Cert 1 during next year, but it looks like that is now not to be. However, I do have the complete set of DVDs to peruse again and again, and I will make sure to download the Study Notes for EFT Cert 2 so that I can watch those particular DVDs with my eye on the more important aspects to note. There is always something new to learn from seeing the master at work and to further my knowledge to help myself, and others.

The DVD sets will be available subject to availability up until Gary's retirement date and although they may seem a bit of a financial outlay, the information you can find within the many hours is priceless. So here is possibly your last chance to get hold of these, although Gary does state in his blog posting that there is a possibility that something may be arranged to carry on with them, but no guarantees as yet.

Some interesting news to look forward to however, is the news of the release of a full length movie showing the use of EFT to help war veterans deal with PTSD, which we will hopefully see early next year. I am sure that is going to be extremely mind boggling to some out there, but if it helps people who otherwise seem doomed to have terrible memories impinge upon the rest of their lives, then bring it on!

So a HUGE THANK YOU, Gary, for all your time and commitment and for the benefits that EFT has brought for myself, my loved ones and clients. We wish you all a very happy, healthy, long retirement and the brightest of blessings for a peaceful, joyful and loving Festive Season.

Bright Blessings,

Karen

Oh, the Joys of the Internet Newsletter!

Hi everyone,

The Internet certainly has its benefits, and it's nice to receive newsletters on all sorts of topics. But I.T. and me don't always gel well together, and I (more accurately, the dear OH, my resident Tech. Support) have spent the last 3 days trying to sort out why the latest edition of my newsletter has been attacked by the IT gremlins, and wouldn't save.

It's a pain really as this is the first newsletter that I've done that has time sensitive information in it. Typical, I suppose. We did a test, and it all worked fine - apart from the fact that only a few of the hyperlinks were working. Scratch the old head; tried again - decided it was best to put the url in alongside the link so that if needs be, recipients can cut and paste. But now it wouldn't save.

OH had a good old go at trying to sort it; then we decided to get hold of the Tech. Support for the software. It appears that it could be the use of the apostrophe that causes the problem., in both the name of the newsletter and the subject line. Most odd - I've managed to produce 4 previous newsletters all fine.

So we've had to change things a bit, and not use apostrophes, which feels really strange as both me, and OH, can be rather pedantic about correct use of the good old apostophe, and it just isn't grammatically correct now - but needs must, I suppose. :-)

I see my copy has just popped into my Inbox, and it looks as if it's all present and correct, minus the dratted apostrophe.

A really good, fun-to-read book on the use of punctuation is Lynne Truss's Eats Shoots and Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation. I do occasionally stray, I am sure, but I prefer properly punctuated reading to text speak and the like that you get so much of now. Showing my age, I suppose.

Golly gosh, a short post today; probably my first. I might get short enough to Twitter, yet. :-)

Bright Blessings,

Karen

A NEW FUN WAY to eliminate food cravings!

Do you “eat to live” or “live to eat”? If you are one of the latter and find that food has a tantalising control over you then you might well be interested in ZAP! FOOD CRAVINGS by Dr Patricia Carrington, a revolutionary new game-like weight loss computer program using Meridian Tapping Techniques (such as EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques) to zap those pesky food cravings.

Personally I suppose I am fortunate in that I don't have issues with food or weight, so long as I avoid grains, which not only produces weight gain but also tend to cause me rather a bit of gastric distress a few hours on from eating them. :-(

This physiological response does mean I don't generally feel tempted to succumb. For me, food is merely fuel to keep me going, and is rarely in the forefront of my mind. Obviously there is a preference for enjoying my meals, certainly, but it is not a comfort thing. Indeed, when under stress, whereas some may reach for the chocolate, or cake, or biscuits, or whatever their "comfort food" item is, I go right off my food and have to force myself to eat.

However, I am aware that for many, food and the need to eat can often take over your lives, AND your figures! You have tried all the diets, but still don’t feel in control. But help is at hand.

For many, food and the need to eat can often take over their lives, AND their figures! You have tried all the diets, but still don’t feel in control. But help is at hand.

This new scientifically developed computer program has been created by a team of experts in the mental health and weight loss fields using Meridian Tapping Techniques (MTT), which you may be familiar with as EFT (Emotional Freedom techniques) and TFT (Thought Field Therapy). This use of Energy Psychology methods is a gentle and non-threatening approach to emotional or physical problems, and remarkably rapid in its effects. Lately, an increasing number of people are using it to successfully eliminate unwanted food cravings.

This ZAP! Food Cravings game uses tempting photographs of mouthwatering food items to help you eliminate self-defeating cravings for your “Downfall” foods. When you first look at these photographs you may well find yourself doing a Homer Simpson impression, drooling over foods you just can’t leave alone.

However, as you play the game you will probably find that the photo becomes just an Interesting Picture and experience a pleasant take-it-or-leave-it attitude toward formerly irresistible foods… this effortless control often lasts for many weeks and when it goes you just play the game again...

You can listen to what Dr. Patricia Carrington has to say about this program here, or read the transcript.

And more from Dr. Carrington about this revolutionary new program:

THIS IS AMAZING!

I’ve been thinking about what I know about using EFT and other forms of Meridian Tapping for FOOD CRAVINGS. It’s a lot. But up until now tapping hasn’t been applied very often to this problem, compared to all its other uses.

WHY IS THIS?

This is a very interesting question.

Let’s recap what we know…

Over the years, we have seen hundreds of people look at and even hold in their hands, foods that for them triggered an irresistible urge to eat those foods–– and then we’ve seen them tap on the special tapping spots and say certain phrases out loud, and the craving goes away! It just disappears… When we are working with an individual or a group, we’ll get this disappearance of the craving in about 90% of the people we work with which is really quite an amazing effect. In a workshop we see the audience overwhelmed at the change they feel immediately, and they realize that tapping is powerful! (I've done this in workshops for cravings for both
chocolate and wine and it's always satisfying to see how people respond - the most common response being that it no longer looks, smells or tastes so nice; even tastes rather horrible - no thanks, I don't really want to eat/drink that now!)

The only problem with this superb method for eliminating food cravings has been getting people to use it on their own.

It’s not easy to buy a bunch of your own favorite foods and keep them in the house and systematically tap while looking at them, without eating them while you do that – most dieting plans advise you not to stock your Downfall foods in the house because it’s so hard to resist eating them. And that’s very sensible advice.

The problem is that to tap on themselves without the supervision of a practitioner or group leader, the person using it has to do several things:

• They have to find it easy to do or they just won’t bother.

• They have to be able to do the process quickly, there is often no time for a full Tapping Session.

• They need to find it FUN to do, or they won’t WANT to do it.

So, the Question is:

How can we help people overcome the above limitations so that Meridian Tapping becomes USEFUL to them when they are on their own?

That was the question that Dr. Pat Carrington and her expert consultants on weight loss through Meridian Tapping – Doctors Carol Look and Sandra Radomski – considered when discussing this problem a couple of years ago.

These practitioners wanted to find out how they could help people apply the amazing appetite control method, Meridian Tapping, by themselves, without the supervision of a practitioner or a group leader.

They decided that the prerequisites for a successful do-it-yourself method of applying it for this purpose will be that:

• The person finds the tapping process very easy to do in connection with eating, otherwise they won’t bother to do it.

• They be given a rapid and systematic way of applying the tapping process.

• They experience tapping for food cravings as fun and feel really GOOD when they use the method –– otherwise they won’t be motivated to continue using it.

• They have access to a support system to help them keep on using it –weight control programs are much more effective when there’s a social network that supports them.

But NONE of these things had been supplied for people up until that point in time.

Which brings us to TODAY’S EXCITING NEWS!

As a result of their initial discussions, Pat and her colleagues decided that the solution to this problem – the need for a self-help METHOD of using Meridian Tapping for control of appetite– was to create a new computer program for this purpose – just as they had formerly created a computer program to deal with core issues that prevent weight loss (that’s the popular Key to Successful Weight Loss program).

They decided that this new program should supplement the former Key program for those who wanted to use them together (although either could be used alone), be fun and game-like, and take almost no time to put into use. It should be easily used even by people not yet familiar with tapping, by teaching them how to tap.

The reason I am telling you this TODAY is that the resultant computer Game, ZAP Food Cravings, has now been being carefully beta-tested and found beneficial and is being released THIS WEEK in a special Introductory Offer, which you can check out by going to http://www.ZapFoodCravings.

Are you maybe wondering how the Game works?

Its impact is through mouth watering photos that are displayed in tempting slideshows which pass before your eyes while you keep tapping and keep saying certain tapping phrases. These phrases counteract your specific food cravings or need to overeat in general.

Playing the game before you go to the dinner table(or at any other time for that matter) can bring down dramatically your compulsion to eat your “Downfall” foods. The game actually makes you feel satisfied rather than deprived so that you can follow your own sensible eating plan.

You will understand more about what’s in it and how it works when you see a sample of the amazing photos used in this game (but if you do be sure to TAP while you look at them - Continuous tapping while watching is MANDATORY).

To see some delicious photos and learn more, go to http://www.ZAPFoodCravings.com

And here is the SPECIAL INTRODUCTORY OFFER:

If you purchase ZAP Food Cravings BEFORE MIDNIGHT ON DECEMBER 21, you get it at 25% off its regular price!. Instead of paying $79.97 for the Game, you can buy it during this time for $59.97

******************************************************************************
People are loving this game. They are benefitting from it. They keep using it… And if they do, they lose weight.

The details are all up there for you. Go to: http://www.zapfoodcravings.com

WHO KNOWS? THIS BENEFICIAL PROGRAM MAY BE EXACTLY WHAT YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR!

You might also like to listen to this half hour podcast by Gene Monterestalli, talking with Pat Carrington about tapping generally for food addictions, cravings and weight loss. You may not have realized just how much emotions are the underlying cause of over-eating, and how we use food as a tranquillizer. I've mentioned how carbohydrates can have a physiological tranquillizing effect in my own EFT manual, "Balance Your Life With EFT" in the "Weight" section.
And the "Chocolate" section has some tapping phrases you can use, as well.

Has the Use of EFT and Reiki Helped Our Cat Recover From Lymphoma of the Bowel Wall? Part Two

PART TWO

Just as we were thinking we were doing really well, that Selene seemed to be making a good recovery from the lymphoma as described here, I got in from a bit of Sunday gardening about 2 weeks later to find a message on the answerphone from a fairly local vet (not ours) to say that they had had a cat brought in to them and her microchip details were ours and the name Selene.

As I dialled the number I was shaking with shock. My first thought was - "What the hell is she doing in Wolverhampton" (at least 6 miles away). The message had said that the vet needed to speak with us - I could only think that someone had found Selene on one of her jaunts and perhaps thought she was a stray as she still looked a bit peaky, and doesn't wear a collar (she keeps losing them) so I was preparing the speech about how she's not been well.

It seemed that she had been involved in a bang with a car. "Oh no, not on top of what she's already been through!" I was tapping like mad on my collar bone point as the vet talked and I shook (This is a good short-cut place to tap if you are in shock, fearful or worried or anxious).

From what the vet said she had a injuries to her face, bruising and the like, with a broken tooth. She was comfortable and I decided we'd leave her where she was as it would be less stressful to her than transferring her to our vets.
She had a palpable bladder and my telling about the lymphoma situation explained some of her other abdominal issues to the vet. The vet says that after an accident animals often don't pass water with the shock to the system but she hoped that all would become normal in the following hours. As she spoke, I was now very much calmer, and actually found myself joking a little. It sounded as if, all being well, we could get her back the next day.

As I put down the phone I was thinking how at 1.30pm we were watching her roll around in the sunshine on the lawn, totally relaxed and looking a lot better - then just an hour or so later she must have had her encounter with a car, probably in the usually quiet lane at the back of the house. Heaven knows what the poor little thing felt like - as if she hadn't got enough on her plate. That's at least 2 of her 9 lives accounted for.... As I rang my husband, out doing some overtime, I felt myself becoming a bit agitated again, and once more tapped the collar bone as I talked to calm me down.

So once again a request to the Forum for Reiki to both Selene and us!

Actually, in 20 years of cat-owning, this is the first time we've had an accident happen to one of them. Just after I finished talking to the vet I decided to do some more surrogate EFT tapping for Selene, having sent some Reiki first.

What came up was:

a feeling of hurt, bewilderment, where am I?, what the hell happened!, followed by a feeling that I'm a great cat, it could have been worse, I'm going to allow myself to get better enough to go home as soon as possible and I know I'm receiving healing even right now.

And once more I asked the Lady Bast to watch over her for us as well, and to speed her healing.

Selene was able to come back home the next day, and didn't actually look too worse for wear. When I rang on the morning they said they were happy for us to collect her; she seemed well and was purring (purring?!!! she rarely does that for us :-). However, I believe that cats purring is a way of helping them to heal, something about the vibration being at a similar level to that produced in the energy healing process. You can read a bit about this here and here.)

Selene seems to have had the closest of close shaves. She had a cut on her right upper lip and some dark marking, perhaps dirt, on the white fur of her flank, but she was walking OK, although having problems with higher jumps - probably quite stiff and achey. She made a beeline for the food bowl when she got in, and we gave her some treats that she wolfed down. She ate her dinner, with both her Predinisone and antibiotic mixed in, and a little later moved off her chair to come and solicit food from me when we had our dinner, knocking back some bits of sausage, which I took as a good sign.

The OH later reported that the apparently fast asleep bundle of fur on the chair shot into the kitchen, along with her daughter, at the merest rustle of the treats packet, and got on to the table more or less OK, although he lifted her down when she finished. So we reckoned she was milking the situation somewhat. :-D

She was rather subdued, understandably and I kept her in for the next few days, for rest and also to monitor her eliminatory output (she took another 24 hours to empty her bladder, but she prefers the great outdoors, unlike the others who prefer the more civilized indoor facilities. The vet was not unduly concerned as the bladder didn't feel very large.)

Apparently she ended up at this particular vet's practice because she was found wandering around looking dazed and uncertain by one of their nurses. The OH thinks she may well have found her way home but at least this meant that she was treated swiftly by qualified people probably almost straight away.

I gave her some Reiki on the night she got back as she was lying in a good position in her chair. She prefers hands-off and moved around a few times, but ended up lying relaxed and stretched out. There was a lot of heat pulling through so I reckon she was taking in quite a bit.

Her guardian angel was certainly working overtime - it looks like she had a very close shave and it could certainly have been far worse, but I give thanks to the Universe and the Goddess that all turned out well.

When we took Selene back to the vets for her scheduled lymphoma check-up, we explained about her misadventure and gave the vet the write-up the other vet had given us and he gave her the once over and a big thumbs up. Even her tooth, which we were anticipating might mean another little jaunt into the bank account, was fine as it is.

Then he had another feel of her abdomen and said that it was now very difficult to notice the lymphoma if you didn't know there was something there, or if it was picked up it felt so minor that it wouldn't ring any alarm bells. Once again, he expressed great surprise that she was responding so well. I asked if she was a bit out of the ordinary in this matter and he said that she was, actually.

She's now on a half dose of the prednisone, having to take it every other day and her next appointment is due about the end of the year.
To look at her you wouldn't think that she's cheated death twice now in a very short period of time. She's plumping out again; her spine feels far less knobbly now and her face has started impersonating Garfield rather than a Siamese.

Like Garfield in more ways than one - she has turned into a walking stomach. I told the vet she was like a feline Dick Turpin, but rather than "Your money or your life", it's "Your food or your knees". We desperately need some armour plating for our legs and knees and when eating meals you now have to fend off a firkling paw. She has started to literally nick pieces of pork crunch and dry roast peanuts out of the packet I'm holding, having dived on and off my lap like greased lightning. And if you offer her a treat you have to count your fingers afterwards to check that they're still all there. Perhaps we should try feeding her like this to save our fingertips.

I like to think that a lot of this is down to all the Reiki she has received in the past few weeks and once again tender thanks to all who have sent it to her. Plus the use of Emotional Freedom Techniques for both Selene and me. My thanks also go to whoever took her in to the vets and it also shows the benefit of microchipping. It will be interesting to see how we all get on at the next vet visit. So far, it seems so good.

If you are interested in what is involved with EFT surrogate tapping, for either your animals or indeed other people, you can read a little more about it here, on Gary Craig's Emofree website, and once there, for more information put the words "surrogate" or "intentional EFT" into the search box.

Has the Use of EFT and Reiki Helped Our Cat Recover From Lymphoma of the Bowel Wall? Part One

Hi everyone,

Finally back again, with a bit more about some of the happenings preceding our holiday.

We have had Selene, our Mother Cat, and her daughter, Hecate for five and a half years now, having got them from the local Cats' Protection League.

Selene began to become very fussy about eating a few months ago. I know that in July there were issues because I chose Selene as my Surrogate subject when I was on my AAMET EFT 3 Level workshop. We'd been to the vets, wondering if it was hairball, or tapeworm (as she had kindly disgorged a whole one for me to clean off the utility floor - as I picked it up in a huge wodge of kitchen towel and rubber gloves I realized it was still alive - yeughh!!!) and there was nothing obvious to be found as a cause.

Time went by, and sometimes she was fine, but often she wasn't, and now she was losing weight so back to the vets. It was decided that she might be hyperthyroid and a blood test was done, which she didn't exactly appreciate.

She's the sweetest looking little thing (although she actually bullies the older cat, Pyewacket) and we would like her to be around for many more years, the gods willing, and as healthy as she can be. So, I asked on the Reiki Forum I am a member of, if those who sent Distant Healing could add Selene to their lists.

There was a bit of a problem as it looked like the blood sample had gone missing before being tested and I was concerned that poor Sel would have to have a return journey and more blood taken, thus even more stress for her. So I did some EFT tapping on myself for the anxiety and worry that this was causing for me, and might cause for Selene. The next day we got the good news that the test results had not only arrived - the vet had no idea where they got to - but that they showed everything is normal, including the thyroid.

However, this left us with a dilemma - we were no further forward in knowing why she was losing weight. As she seemed OK in herself, apart from the weight loss, for the moment, the vet advised us to keep a watch on her and see how things went. As she was due back for her second vaccination on 2nd September (we had this done in case she needed to go on meds, and thus might need to go in the cattery when we were away on holiday) the vet booked her in with one of the senior vets as he was away himself that week. We think he's booked her in with the senior vet as a kind of second opinion. He did comment that he'd found a slight lump in her abdomen, which might be a sign of inflammation and that did bring us back to the old possibilities of either tapeworm infestation or hairball, common for her because she has such thick fur.

I updated the Distant Healing group and asked if she could be kept on their healing lists for the time being, as I really didn't want to see her waste away.

2nd September came. Selene had seemed to be coming along all right, slowly but surely. It actually felt as if she was getting a bit of padding back on her spine. But then at the beginning of that week she went off her food in a much bigger way. The vet appointment had been for a follow-up vaccination, but in the end she didn't have it.

The vet had a feel of her abdomen and made some rather discouraging sounds, then checked her out with an ultrasound scan. It turns out that Selene apparently had a lymphoma growth in the wall of the bowel. The vet said that he could not recommend the surgical option as being too radical and not likely to be that successful anyway. So she was on the medical option - steroids (prednisone) - to help shrink the tumour and hopefully put her into a state of remission. He told us that many respond very well and can go on to lead good quality lives, although some do not so well.

While the OH waited for the prescription and to pay, I took Selene to the car - and promptly burst into tears. In a moment or two I collected myself and started to tap for the emotions that were clutching at me from this cancer diagnosis. This was working on the basis that I had to clear myself before I could do anything useful for Selene. I was also working on the fact that in two days time we were going off to Scotland for a fortnight - what should we do?

I then carried out some Surrogate Tapping for Selene. I tapped out a round on me, telling myself that I was now Selene. Then I carried out EFT in the usual way.

"Even though I've been mauled by that vet, and it was most uncomfortable, I deeply and completely love and accept myself, because I am a great cat. Even though that vet has told Karen that I have a tumour in my bowel wall, and I'm sorry that it has upset her, I deeply and completely love and accept myself, because I am a great cat. Even though the vet has diagnosed a cancer in me, and I have to have drugs to try to make things better, that's OK because I am a great cat and choose to get well." I tapped a few rounds and then tapped another round telling myself I was now Karen again.

By the time the OH got to the car, I was calm and collected and had already started sending lots of Reiki to Selene. As soon as I got back I was onto the Forum again to ask for Reiki to continue for Selene, to help her get the best from the medication and that all being well she would be one of those who benefits. If it was not to be then the Reiki could help her (and us) be comfortable with whatever happened.

The vet said the steroid would make her eat, and eeh bah gum, he was right. Almost overnight she seemed to turn into a walking stomach! I was hoping that she would regain some weight, the lymphoma would reduce and she'd be OK. Some of my reading on human cancer suggests that cancer per se is not necessarily a killer. It causes problems if the tumour blocks, obstructs or damages a vital organ or system. Also the main problem is cachexia, or loss of appetite and thus lack of nutrients and energy, so no reserves to heal from. So if it reduced and allowed free flow of nutrients and the eliminatory processes, she could do well.

That night I started Reiki sessions big-time, visualising as I did Reiki on Reiki Bear (my surrogate as she won't sit on our laps) that the energy flowed through her whole system, fillling every cell and tissue with healing light and love. I saw a clear flow through her entire gut and where I visualised the lump to be, I saw it being easily and gently smoothed away, a bit like glaciers or water flow form canyons by wearing away the rock.

She seemed OK in her self, which was good.

Fortunately for us, our wonderful neighbour agreed to take on the additional responsibility of keeping an eye on her and giving her dose of prednisone each evening when we went on holiday to Scotland for two weeks.

While we were away I sent her Reiki every evening as part of my Distant Healing working, using Reiki Bear as my surrogate. On the journey up I was dealing with feelings of worry and guilt at leaving her. I did some more EFT tapping to resolve these negative emotions (Even though I feel so guilty at going away and leaving her and putting the responsibility on our neighbour ... , even though this is so selfish of me ... , even though I am worried that something terrible will happen, etc.) and then found myself in a dialogue with the Egyptian Cat Goddess Bast, who reassured me that all would be well - just have faith. Now part of me was asking myself if I was just deluding myself in this way, telling myself what I wanted to hear, so I asked Her for a sign. When we got to the cottage we were staying at, there on the mantelpiece was a cheap little pottery ornament - a black cat! As soon as I saw that I felt totally peaceful, relaxed and reassured.

At the end of each nightly DH session I asked for an update on how Selene was doing. On two occasions I got the response that she'd had a grotty day, but otherwise most of the time I just had a feeling of gentle reassurance. I was continuing the visualisation of the tumour in her bowel wall being smoothed away, allowing the energy, the food and nutrients, and waste to flow freely and normally. Initially I was 'seeing' a large obstructive lump in the lumen of the bowel. By the middle/end of the second week I was 'seeing' only a slight bulge in the bowel wall, as if the lump had reduced quite radically. I was also setting the intent that Reiki would allow Selene to get only the best effects from the medication and that any negative side-effects would be ameliorated.

We knew that all was reasonably OK because we'd phoned our neighbour during the time away. When we got home, Selene was there to greet us, looking fuller in the face and less haunchy, and still with a good appetite. Apparently she and her daughter had soon sussed that our neighbour was the source of food and started to camp out on his front door-step making a racket as meal times approached. :-) Interestingly enough, he told us that he'd been a little concerned a couple of times as she just wouldn't show interest in her food, even if he held it up to her where she was perched on the cupboard. I wish I'd made a note of when I had the 'messages' she'd had a grotty day.

We had her booked in for a follow-up with the vet a couple of days after we got back and he checked her over. "How's she doing?" Quite well, we think - we hope you are going to find an improvement. He palpated her abdomen and told us the tumour had shrunk down quite considerably - this was good news as it confirmed that it was a lymphoma and not a carcinoma. He had another feel and I was watching his face - "the fluid seems to have disappeared; feels like normal poo in her bowel; and really, she's done remarkably well; that was a large lump before but now it feels like little more than a thickening in her bowel wall."

He stood back and then said "I'm really surprised at how well she's responded - it really is a very good result!" I told him she was getting lots of healing as well as the Prednisone, and he said "Well, whatever you're doing you can keep on with it." He reckons she may need to stay on the medication long-term, even if she seems to go into full remission (he had a case that seemed to have sorted itself so he stopped treatment, and it came back far more aggressively so he says he's a bit chicken about doing that again), but that the main 'side-effect' is a long life. :-)

I was really interested in his description of what seemed to have happened as it mirrored my visualisations - the lump becoming a bulge, or thickening only in the bowel wall. That has very much boosted my confidence in trusting what comes to me when doing such work as this. The OH commented as we went home that he had the distinct impression that the vet had been expecting little or no improvement - we were both extremely pleased that he seemed to have had such a pleasant surprise. And to hear him express it.

Was it the Reiki? Or does Selene have wonderful powers of healing or is extremely responsive to steroids? Who knows, but I like to think that being on the end of all the Distant Healing the group (169 members) sends has really improved upon the effects and benefits of the steroid, and helped the cells and tissues of her body to respond more normally, rather than going into overdrive.

Selene seems to be doing very well now. She still has occasional off days with food, but they usually correspond with the days she spends out and I'm guessing that she might be full of self-caught food. Her energy field has also expanded once more and she's no longer looking as if she is doing an impression of a Siamese cat as her face is filling out again. The vet did say her appetite might well moderate once she's fully established on the Prednisone, but that if not she may become a little fat, but I got the impression he thought that not a bad thing in this situation.

I still can't get over how my visualisation seems to have been a true "seeing" of what was going on - it has really impressed me. I suppose it's having the emotional attachment, perhaps?

And thank heavens for the EFT, helping me to come through the worry, which does nothing for me and certainly makes no difference to the outcome.

There was a hiccup along the way. Find out what happened next in Part Two.

Bright Blessings,

Karen

Our Vitamin D Test Results Are In....

Hi everyone,

Just realized how long it has been since I last posted. :-(

We were away on holiday in Scotland for two weeks in September (a lot went on just prior to, during and after, which meant the use of lots of EFT and Reiki, which I'll post about in the next few days/weeks) and when things did finally settle down again, I just couldn't get myself back into the groove again.

But hopefully I'm back in blogging mode so should make some more frequent updates as time goes by.

Today I found out that in Canada, in 2007, the Vitamin D Society had declared November as "Vitamin D Awareness Month", and had considered 2006 as "The Year of Vitamin D". Back in August I wrote a post on Vitamin D and how the Other Half and I had decided to get our levels tested and here is the update.

The OH got his test stuff through quite quickly, but I had to wait quite a while as there had been a problem with filling in the online questionnaire. However, an email soon got it sorted and before too long both the OH and myself were in possession of our first set of test results from Grass Roots Health D-Action.

They were actually a bit better than I had anticipated - Dr John Briffa had first tested at 15ng/ml, and then at 31ng/ml after some supplementation as he mentioned in his blog post and I thought we might be about the same.

As it happens, the OH was 28ng/ml, and I was 24ng/ml. Although still quite low and a long way from the optimal figure, we were pleased we weren't too low as deficiency does seem to equate with any number of nasty disease conditions.

So now we both have our base levels, and the fact that the OH had better levels than me, despite shunning the sunlight, suggests that the cod liver oil capsules and the fish he's been eating have helped to elevate his status somewhat. As we have had a lousy summer, having been promised a BBQ summer that turned into a damp squib, I haven't been able to get out into the sun as much as I would have liked, and I'm not so good at remembering to supplement.

We are now taking 50,000 IUs of Vitamin D3 once a week and we'll have a re-test in the spring to see how things are going.

Just recently Dr Briffa posted about the benefits of vitamin D to significantly reduce the risk of death from strokes. Dr William Davis has a post in his Heart Scan blog "What is a healthy vitamin D blood level?" and has this to say:

"... it is reasonable to extrapolate that the ideal vitamin D blood level likely lies somewhere above 50 ng/ml. We also know that vitamin D toxicity (i.e., hypercalcemia) is virtually unheard of until vitamin D blood levels approach 150 ng/ml, and even then is inconsistent. The health benefits of vitamin D supplementation are so tremendous, that I am not willing to wait for the prospective data to explore this question fully. For now, I aim for a blood level of vitamin D of 60-70 ng/ml (150-175 nmol/L)."

He also mentions a new study about vitamin D supplementation reducing insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes, one of the reasons for our interest as the OH has type 2 diabetes.

The growing research on the connection with vitamin D levels and the risk of various cancers, especially breast cancer is of particular interest to me, as I am going through the menopause on the way to Cronehood. The older one gets the more the the risk increases so I want to be pro-active.

It is also particularly interesting that doctors are now starting to use vitamin D in the fight against cancer, and at the higher supplemental rate ("Dr. O'Connor says some breast-cancer patients have such low stores of the nutrient that they need to embark on a crash course of taking up to 50,000 IU a week for several months to bring up their levels. Other patients whose starting levels aren't so poor take a few thousand IU a day. She also monitors blood levels to make sure people don't get too much.")
.

As we are now in the coughs, cold and flu season, and there is plenty of research to show that vitamin D can help the immune system to fight off any infection, that is yet another reason to try and ensure optimal levels of this vital substance. We are aiming for 50 - 70ng/ml. Wonder how we'll get on?

Bright Blessings,

Karen

The Last Plantagenet - In Memory of Richard III - Battle of Bosworth 22nd August 1485

"PLANTAGENET, Richard. Remember before God, Richard III, King of England, and those who fell at Bosworth Field, 22nd August 1485, having kept faith. Loyaulte me Lie."

This is the in memoriam notice of the Richard III Society and is also to be found on a plaque in Sutton Cheney church, where Richard prayed before he went into battle.

Memorial Plaque - Sutton Cheney Church, Leicestershire.

This day, 22 August, marks the 524th anniversary of the Battle of Bosworth, where the last Plantagenet King of England was killed.

Richard III was the last English monarch to die leading his men into battle, defending his crown against the usurper Henry Tudor. He died as a result of the treachery of Lord Thomas Stanley, step-father of the usurper, his brother Sir William Stanley and Henry Percy, Earl of Northumberland.

The oh-so-charming Henry Tudor immediately sought to backdate his administration to a date prior to the battle of Bosworth Field in order to attaint for treason men who had fought for the former King Richard of York.

Henry VII was in fact outlawed and barred from his own inheritance, and was under Attainder when he seized the English Throne in 1485. Henry's coronation conveniently nullified the attainder. Following this, Parliament made the declaration that any who had opposed King Henry at Bosworth were to be considered traitors.

Thankfully it appears that idea was knocked back.

Many will say that Richard himself was not only a usurper, but also responsible for the deaths of his nephews, Edward and Richard, the “Princes in the Tower”. However, as a member of the Richard III Society since I was about 14 years old, it’s pretty obvious what my viewpoint on that issue is. I am an out-and-out Yorkist!

My interest in Richard actually started at about the age of eleven. I know for a fact that I was reading Philip Lindsay’s “The Tragic King – Richard III” from the library at the age of twelve because I upset my mother. I can remember saying to her “Mum, he keeps calling him the ‘young’ king but he was 32 when he died!” “Do you mind, I’m 32 and that is NOT old!”

It gave me much pleasure to acquire that same book a few years ago to add to my Ricardian library, all the way from Australia – wonderful thing, the Internet!

Certainly the City of York mourned the loss of their King. The Minutes of the York City Records, 23 August, 1485 read:

"King Richard, late mercifully reigning over us, with many other lords and nobility of the north parts, was piteously slain and murdered to the great heaviness of this city.”

Richard’s personal device of the White Boar.

I remember a call went out for people to take part in making these kneelers , back in the 80's, I think it was – I would have done one myself but my tapestry work is so slow I’d probably still be working on it now.

The White Rose of the House of York.

It is interesting to think how different English / British history would have been had Richard not been betrayed, or if he had not decided to risk all on that fateful charge with his household knights. No Henry VIII and his six wives; no Elizabeth I or Mary, Queen of Scots (there is in fact a link between Richard and Mary – would anyone know what it is? ;-D).

In fact, would there be a United Kingdom as such, as James I of England and VI of Scotland, son of Mary, traced his descent and claim to the English throne from Henry Tudor? The Reformation would certainly not have taken place the way it did. Our present Queen Elizabeth II also traces her lineage from Henry VII, and thus to the Plantagenets due to his marriage to Elizabeth of York, daughter of Edward IV and sister to the “Princes in the Tower”.

Today I dragged the forbearing Other Half around the Bosworth Battlefield site. We went on the Battlefield Guided Walk. In recent years it has been suggested that the existing site of the battlefield isn’t, in fact, the correct place. The guide told us that a £1,000,000 has been spent in recent times in archaeological research and pointed out what is now considered to be a better contender for the site.

King Richard’s Well - It is said that Richard drank the water from this well on the day of the battle (although the guide pointed out that the spring lay elsewhere – but this has become a memorial in its own right.) .

We visited the living history camp and medieval market and enjoyed the falconry displays.

Karen gets up close with a buzzard. What a beauty she is – the buzzard, I mean. We have a pair of buzzards fly around the area we live in. When pegging the washing on the line, or sitting in the garden you can often hear their distinctive cry, and watch them being mobbed by other birds. It was great to not only see one at such close quarters but also to have the opportunity to have one perched on my wrist.

We watched the re-enactment of the battle. The weather was beautiful and sunny and we fully enjoyed our day out in the past.

A bit of the action

Requiescat in pace, Richard.

Bright Blessings,

Karen

Are You Getting Enough? ... Vitamin D, that is.

Hi everyone,

My Other Half and I have just signed up to Grassroots Health D-action project and are now eagerly awaiting our 25-hydroxyvitamin D (
25(OH)D) testing kits. I've suggested we run a sweep on what we think our figures will be - I'm thinking they are not going to be that wonderful, especially when you bear in mind that 51% of the participants to date have vitamin D levels below the recommended 40 - 60ng/ml. In fact the Vitamin D Council advocate levels "between 50–80 ng/mL (or 125–200 nM/L) year-round."

If you think about how in recent decades there has been such a point made about keeping out of the sun and using sunscreen all over (can it really be a good idea to block the skin with a chemical coating?), along with the rise of the low-fat diet (which incidentally does NOT seem to coincide with thinner, healthier people - but that's a post for another day :-D), it's not too surprising to understand why we are now so deficient in this vital nutrient.

So why are we doing this test? Just recently information about Vitamin D appears to have been coming to my attention left, right and centre. On the Dr Bernstein Diabetes Forum that I am a member of it has been mentioned quite frequently in recent times as being helpful in balancing blood sugars, amongst many other benefits, so could be helpful for the OH's diabetes control. (Thanks Ted, for sharing your knowledge...)

Dee Adams also recently posted a blog item on Vitamin D and
Dr John Briffa often discusses Vitamin D in his blog. In fact, it was a recent entry by Dr Briffa made me think more deeply about just how much Vitamin D the husband and I were likely to be getting.

I like to sit out in the sun (when it actually gets around to shining here in Britain) and don't use sunscreen; we eat oily fish, eggs, full fat milk and butter in our diet (the only real dietary sources), but going by Dr Briffa's results, it's likely that like so many others I am actually rather deficient.

The husband rarely goes out in the sun (the main source for Vitamin D) so his status is likely to be worse than mine. I joke that the neighbours must think we are vampires as our walks are usually in the evening, after we have eaten to help bring down his post-prandial blood glucose levels.

As a result of all this, I have gone on to check out what information is out there. And it makes fascinating reading!

Vitamin D is in fact more of a hormone precursor than a true vitamin, as it is manufactured within the body. When the body's supplies are sufficient, it enables the body to protect itself from all manner of problems and disease conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, cancer, MS (Multiple Sclerosis), osteoporosis, muscle pain (it's been mentioned that the diagnosis of fibromyalgia may in fact be more related to Vitamin D deficiency). You can find lots of information at the Vitamin D Council website.

A couple of good videos to watch can be found here and here. And this is a link to the list on Vitamin D at You Tube. Lots more interesting information.

Ted Hutchinson also has information on his blog and after communication with him I am now waiting for my supply of 50,000 IU Vitamin D to arrive. Once we have established our baseline with the D-action test, the intention is to take 50,000 IUs each once a week for 8 weeks to replenish any lack. Thereafter, we will be looking at taking one 50,000 IUs capsule every 8 - 11 days, this being dependent upon our body weight. This means the OH will be taking about 6000IUs daily, and I'll be getting about 4500 IUs (based on about 1000 IUs for every 25 lb of weight).

We'll be able to keep an eye on how things go when we have our second test in 6 months time. At the moment, we should be at our highest levels of 25(OH)D, it being the end of the summer months and the later test should show what it is like at the end of the winter period.

Funnily enough, a friend of the OH phoned at the weekend to ask what, if anything, he knew about vitamin D as he'd found information on, of all places, a computer buff website that he frequents. I think he got rather more information than he bargained for. So word is getting around.

I also prefer the thought that boosting my vitamin D status will also boost my immune system, and is definitely a better option for me than some untested "swine flu vaccine". Again, there is the consideration, noted by Dr John Cannell, amongst others, that the reason that flu is generally seasonal, is because it coincides with the drop in vitamin D levels that occur over the autumn / winter months.

In the latest Vitamin D Council newsletter which arrived in my Inbox this very day, Dr Cannell writes:

"As the H1N1 pandemic looms, it is heartening that Dr. Alexandra Yamschchikov and colleagues at Emory University conducted the first meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials of Vitamin D treatment of infections, concluding that significant scientific evidence exists to support further research of Vitamin D treating, not just preventing, infections like the flu. The only mistake I can see is that she confused activated Vitamin D and one of its analogs with Vitamin D.

Yamshchikov AV, Desai NS, Blumberg HM, Ziegler TR, Tangpricha V.

Vitamin D for treatment and prevention of infectious diseases: a systematic review of randomized controlled trials. Endocr Pract. 2009 Jul-Aug;15(5):438-49.

If you have been taking 5,000 IU per day for several years, you know Vitamin D helps, but certainly does not prevent all respiratory infections. Because H1N1 may be deadly, besides taking 5,000 IU per day every day (1,000 IU for every 25 pounds of body weight for children) to prevent deficiency, make sure you have some 50,000 IU capsules of Vitamin D on hand this winter.

I recommend 2,000 IU per day per kilogram of body weight (which is about 1,000 IU per day for every pound of body weight) for three days at the first sign of influenza. While there are no randomized controlled trials showing it will help, there is a randomized controlled trial showing such doses will not hurt. This month, Dr. Bacon and colleagues at the University of Auckland found that a single dose of 500,000 IU (half a million units) did no harm to the elderly; a month after a single 500,000 IU dose, Vitamin D levels were about 40 - 50 ng/ml; two months later they were deficient again, only 30 ng/ml.

Bacon CJ, Gamble GD, Horne AM, Scott MA, Reid IR. High-dose oral vitamin D3 supplementation in the elderly. Osteoporos Int. 2009 Aug;20(8):1407-15."

The consensus of scientific understanding appears to be that vitamin D deficiency is reached for serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25OHD) levels less than 20 ng/mL (50 nmol/L), insufficiency in the range from 20-32 ng/mL, and sufficiency in the range from 33-80 ng/mL, with normal in sunny countries 54-90 ng/mL, and excess greater than 100 ng/mL.

So, what will it be? I'm going to guesstimate about 15 ng/ml for me, and a bit lower for the OH. So, will it be higher (I hope) or lower (this would already be low enough). We'll know in a little while.

Bright Blessings,

Karen

Improve Your Eyesight With EFT Week 8 - Remaining Blocks

HI everyone,

Here we have the final week of
using Carol Look's EFT protocol. Week 1 posting has the details of how the tapping sessions were set up, and my progress to date is covered in these postings - Week 2, Week 3, Week 4, Week 5, Week 6 and Week 7.

Week 8 commenced on the 27th July, after a slight hiatus caused by the flu bug. The topic for this final week was "Remaining Blocks to Improving My Eyesight". Carol tells us that even after all the tapping we have done, we may still have some "Yes, but's" in our minds about why it might not be safe or good or enjoyable to release the conflicts behind our less than perfect vision. She goes on to say that if you have any other reasons for not improving, then use those reasons as tapping subjects; otherwise you can go along with Carol's three tapping rounds.

My notes start thus:

Talk about resistance! Been ill the last two weeks with flu-like symptoms. Finished last section on 15th July so quite a long gap. Have noticed that wearing my glasses I now always have to hold things further away, which feels very odd.

Day 1 - None of my usual energy shift signs. Instead I developed a sinus headache type feeling over my right eye. I tapped on the "sinus-headache 'stuck' feeling over my right eye, and choosing to release it and let it all go. It started at 7/10, increased to 8/10, then dropped to 4/10. Was it a symbol of resistance - I don't know. It stayed pretty much the same and then I started coughing again. I'll wait and see how it turns out later. Certainly feel quite light-headed.

Day 2 - Noticed about half an hour after finishing last night that the ache was gone. Before I started the tapping I indulged in a ten minute "Tap and Rant" on frustrations current for me.
Having felt a lot better for doing so I carried out the tapping, and had a few minor yawns.

I've decided that I must make an appointment sooner rather than later with my optician as my glasses are definitely not working the way they have done in the past. Something appears to have changed and I'd be interested to know what and how. Hmmm, an interesting thought just came to me - astigmatism in my right eye - odd shaped eyeball - square peg into a round hole? Must think about that some.

Day 3 - First day back at work for two and a half weeks. Don't feel too bad, actually. Back to yawning and watery eyes during Rounds 2 and 3. Feel relaxed.

Day 4 - My glasses definitely feel odd now. Lots of deep yawning and eyes quite wet. It's very odd not having to have my nose so close to what I'm reading!

Day 5 - Just realized that when crafting today I was not holding my head so close to the desk - a great relief for the neck and shoulders. Feeling quite warm throughout the tapping and yawning when carrying out the positive rounds.

Day 6 - Lots of yawns and very watery eyes.

Day 7 - Yawns and watery eyes at the end of each set of rounds. Felt quite warm again as I tapped.

So there we are - finished the programme! I'm pleased with myself for committing to it, even though it has taken slightly longer than it should. Two days later I was sitting in my chair, reading the Teletext, and then went on to read a magazine. I had to take my glasses off to read that, which is now mostly the case. Something came on the television and I looked up to watch. I realized I could see it much more clearly than I have before. I looked at the clock on the mantelpiece, and could read the time - albeit all slightly fuzzy with both eyes. The right eye alone was still a mere fuzz.

I think I now need to do some tapping on fuzzy vision and the right eye being worse than the left, and come up with some positive affirmations for the Setup, e.g. I choose to become less and less reliant upon my glasses to see clearly, etc.
Filling in Week 8 of the follow-up form I could only put what I had last time. There have been changes - yes, but they seem fairly minor until I can get my eyes checked out. They have, however, all been positive.

In Week 1 we had the following baselines:
"A self-test is being able to see the palm of my right hand - in focus, without specs - at no more than inches. I can see the left palm just about at arm's length. OK, that could be an interesting one to follow-up on as improvement beyond arm's length can be difficult to gauge. However, my interest is more in my right eye. If that improves to anything more than inches, preferably a LOT more, that will definitely make me think EFT works very well on eyesight."

Checking today, my right eye can now focus on my palm from about 7". Not much, but an improvement for me!

I did try the self-administered eye test link that Carol gave but it came up as an error. I found another similar one -
the Online Eye Exam - probably nowhere near as good but at least gives one something to work from.

"My left eye, without specs, came up as 20/200 ("You are considered legally blind if glasses, contacts or any other corrective measures can't correct vision") so it was with a sense of amused trepidation I waited to see what comment my right eye provoked. 20/400 (!) ("How are you enjoying this site?") Fortunately, spectacle use brings my left eye to 20/35 and my right eye to 20/30 vision."

Checking just now - my left eye, without specs - 20/100 ("Did you know - someone 100 foot away can see the same thing as clearly as you can when you are only 20 foot away?") My right eye, it has to be said - remains at 20/400. Wearing my specs I got both eyes came up as 20/30 vision.

"Carol then asks us to scale 6 states - anger (6), guilt (4), hurt (2), resentment, (2), shame (2),and aches and pains (10). (SUDS: 0 = never feel this way 10 = always feel this way) now, so we can repeat the scaling at the end of 8 weeks."
I can now rate these as follows:
anger (2), guilt (0), hurt (0), resentment, (1), shame (1),and aches and pains (6). So all reduced or zeroed, but I know there are still certain issues to "focus" upon. :-)

So, much as I would love to say I can throw away my glasses, that is not to be, at least not yet. However, there have been enough noticeable changes for me to continue chipping away at this, tapping away at whatever may come up. I'm looking forward to my next visit to the optician and see what he finds.

And I have to give myself a big slap on the back for actually getting to the end of this. I'm one of the best at starting things, with wild enthusiasm, but that usually very quickly wanes and I lose interest and float off to other things (floaters?). So well done, Me!

You can see details of the actual results that Carol received from her original participants here.

Bright Blessings,

Karen
