Hi Everyone,
Already half way through January - it looks as if this year might be as swift moving as last year!
Although not yet Spring, I've found myself in the frame of mind to start clearing the clutter in many of the rooms. This generally happens once we have taken down the Yuletide decorations; it is a brand new year and it feels good to make a nice, fresh start. Both my husband and I tend to be squirrels and it certainly shows. Of course, my clutter is useful and his is not
.
In my last post I mentioned finding joy in having ample shelving to give a good home to my many files. I'm nearly finished going through the folders and finding relevant places for papers to go. There is just the EFT stuff to file now, and there is quite a lot of that, but it can be nibbled away at when the odd moment occurs. So that is all very satisfying.
This means that I now have lots of space around me, and am no longer falling over things, or knocking things over with my backside as I turn. My desk is clear and it actually feels so very different, as if there is a lighter, happier energy around me. This also means that I feel much more inclined to get some work done, instead of getting distracted by the mess. It seems that a clear room / working environment leads to much more productivity, frees up the flow of energy and ideas. Possibly just a psychological thing, but it is certainly helpful.
We had a new mattress delivered today and that lead to the bedroom getting the once-over as well so that too has a more harmonious atmosphere about it. The next big project is my craft room, and that will be a challenge! Of course, once we get some good days of weather coinciding with free time and inclination, there is the garden to set up as well. At least after last year's marathon tidy-up, it should be quite fast and straight forward to do.
Now if I could just persuade the OH to feel the clutter-cleaning urge, life would be near perfect
. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to like doing EFT, but if you feel that you could do with having an early Spring Clean but feel overwhelmed at the very thought, then EFT could well move you on.
You can find a very useful article, Getting Started on Clutter, containing two little tapping scripts by Carol Look and Rick Wilkes at Thriving Now, and they have also written a book, Clearing Clutter With EFT. Or you might like to download Figen Genco's free e-Book, also called Clearing Clutter With EFT. There is also an excellent article by Lindsay Kenny on the EFT Universe site, Clearing Clutter for Clarity and Confidence.
Having things parked in their own place, and knowing that you won't feel bad if someone drops by unexpectedly produces a very satisfactory glow. And with the days gradually growing longer and lighter, things can only get better and better!
And my piece of joy for today? I've finally learned how to add smilies to my blog posts, and emails, and to lose the unwanted border. A little thing, but one that has been bugging me for some time.
Bright Blessings,
